Having held senior leadership roles throughout the energy and infrastructure industries, he has worked with scores of companies and mission-driven organizations, guiding them through the evaluation, structuring, and negotiation of energy and infrastructure projects that deliver lasting value.

Edward's expertise spans offtake negotiation, project financing, and strategic partnerships, enabling clients to navigate the technical, financial, and regulatory complexities of today's evolving energy landscape. Drawing on a foundation in economic and business development, he bridges the worlds of energy, real estate, and policy to create solutions that drive long-term value for property owners, nonprofits, and communities.

Richard Cooper is a lifelong entrepreneur with more than 40 years of experience spanning the energy, financial, and venture capital sectors. He has held leadership roles in both privately and publicly held organizations — from early-stage ventures to multi-billion-dollar international enterprises.

His expertise encompasses energy services, renewable energy, energy efficiency, financial operations, and strategic business development. Throughout his career, Mr. Cooper has successfully led organizations through rapid growth, market transition, and operational restructuring.

He has also executed strategic transactions, including the sale of a renewable energy company to private equity, demonstrating his ability to build, scale, and realize value in complex markets. As a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), he integrates technical acumen with strategic insight to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainable performance across the energy sector.

Built from the inside out

Rich and Ed founded Nova Power Partners after years of watching organizations overpay for energy — not because of bad intentions, but because they lacked access to the same market intelligence and procurement infrastructure that large corporations take for granted. Nova exists to close that gap: bringing institutional-grade energy risk management to clients that have real exposure but haven't historically had a dedicated advocate in the market.
